How do viruses spread?

Although it has been shown that the disease can infect even with very mild symptoms, it is much more likely to get sick from a person who produces severe symptoms because these symptoms are best suited for spread the virus. If someone just feels a little bit sick, the danger is much smaller, but not negligible: after shaking hands with a quasi-asymptomatic person, we can easily get the disease by touching our face and eyes with our hands.

The information of WHO mentioned above writes also about the fact that the virus can also spread indirectly, so it can pass from one sick person to another through a mediating medium. Fortunately according to the current state of science there is a very little chance of that: on the surface of products and objects the virus can be remain viable only for a very limited time. Even in the most extreme cases, it can be measured in a maximum of hours before the virus dies and is very difficult to get it even when we come in contact with a specifically infected product. This is why washing hands is crucial: if a virus gets on your hand from an object, it is completely destroyed by a thorough hand wash, so we remain protected.
Thus, items brought into our homes from different stores may contain pathogens, but according to WHO guidelines, a completely standard household disinfectant can perfectly eliminate this danger.

It is already clear to almost everyone that facilities that attract many people are dangerous for the spread of the virus. This is not because we take the virus home with the "coughed up" products, but because there are many people in one place and the probability of spreading from person to person is greater than indirectly through objects. That is why during an epidemic, if we can, do not go to crowded malls, avoid any place where we are exposed to direct human contact.
